The Rusty Anchor Restaurant on the northeast tip of Cape Breton Island in Nova Scotia was truly a wonderful dining experience.

It was an unusually hot day on the island and we had the good fortune of getting the corner gazebo booth on the huge deck perched near the edge of a 500 feet high cliff overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. It was a breathtaking view.

We had the crab which was messy (of course) and very tasty indeed. The service was friendly and prompt. The meals were prepared well, were very tasty with ample portions.

Located near Cheticamp, the Rusty Anchor arguably has the best view of any restaurant on the Cabot Trail.

As much as we enjoyed our crab dinner, we rate the Rusty Anchor as a 4 star mostly due to its amazing view.
