I can’t say enough about Pizza of Waterton……it would be MUCH to profane. Very disappointing to say the least!

We created our own pizza with our 8 favorite toppings. Not only did this cost a fortune at $1.50 per topping but whoever the chef was, they did not have a clue how to cook the whole thing. The tomatoes were raw and cold as were the red peppers. The crust was sopping wet and the remainder of the toppings left much to be desired. We do a similar topping pizza at home that is 10 times better at least.We each had one piece and tossed the rest in the garbage. Had we not been famished we would have not even eaten one piece.

I’ve eaten pizza at hundreds of restaurants and this rates as the absolute worst!!!

If you ever get a chance to eat in Waterton, our recommendation would be to avoid Pizza of Waterton.

We rate Pizza of Waterton as a 1 star. If we could rate it less than that  we most certainly would! AVOID, AVOID, AVOID!!!

The Bel Lago Ristorante is located right downtown  Waterton. It was our 10th anniversary and the Bel Lago was recommended to us as the best place to eat in Waterton boasting the best service in town. I reserved the best table in the place the day before and we were looking forward to a really nice meal.

We did enjoy our table as it had the best view of the restaurant as well as the downtown activities.

The wine list was very limited but we did manage to find a good Malbec for you dry red wine lovers. We had mussels as an appetizer which were just OK. MY wife had the Osso Bucco which was a lamb rib dish, It was EXCELLENT! I ordered the rib steak medium rare. Sadly it came medium well to well. I showed the waitress who did not seem to know what the difference would be. She says “oh, is it not done right?” I did get a new plate after about 40 minutes that had a closer to medium rare steak on it. In the mean time my wife and I shared her lamb…..YUMMY! We then shared my steak which was neither as tasty or tender as I make at home.

The service was extremely slow and there was no apology whatsoever for the problem with the steak and the time we had to wait for a properly prepared one. I think this was about the first time EVER that I left a $0 tip. I am a very generous tipper for those who deserve it….this was not the case at all. Don’t be in a hurry at Waterton!

We rate the Bel Lago Ristorante in Waterton as a 2 1/2 star restaurant. Definitely NOT worth the $125 tab!

The Bayshore Lakeside Chophouse in Waterton is located right on upper Waterton lake and has the best view in town.

We had both a breakfast and a lunch at the Bayshore Lakeside Chophouse.

The eggs were prepared very well, the ham was tasty and the waffles were done just right. Too bad the hash browns were really soggy. The coffee was OK.

The burgers were very good as was the fires and brown gravy. The drinks were OK. Really nothing to write home about. It filled the gap!

We rate the Bayshore Lakeside Chophouse as a 3 star restaurant. The best part is the view!

Home style meals in a cozy environment. We had a breakfast meal, a dinner meal and a bagged lunch for our hike.

Breakfast was a little disappointing. The fries were deep fried, the O.J. was from concentrate, one of our eggs was served broken and the coffee cups were HUGE….I mean REALLY HUGE! By the time you were half way done it was cold.

For dinner we had the pork roast which was quite tasty and the pork ribs which were OK. The baked potato was OK but only came with onions so don’t expect the rest of the fixin’s. The mashed potatoes were from a box…..BOO!!! The buns and cold slaw were very good. The wine list has a  very limited selection and it was difficult to find an acceptable red wine to have with our dinner.

The sandwiches were their best meal. Fresh bread and a generous portion of meat topped how you like it! They made for a very nice lunch on our hike.

The washrooms were clean but smelly.

We rate the Trappers Mountain Grill in Waterton as a 3 star restaurant. Although we ate their twice it was more a matter of very little other choices in the small town of Waterton that it was that we enjoyed the meals.

The restaurant at Waterton Lakes Lodge is located near downtown Waterton, The restaurant is large and had a very nice atmosphere and decor. There are two levels with the upper level having the much better view of the mountains.

The service was friendly but once again slow as was the check out process. In fact while attending to us they simply left and did not come back. Don’t be in a hurry at Waterton!

The meals were hot and tasty. The seafood was excellent and the serving sizes generous.

We rate the Waterton Lakes Lodge restaurant as a 3 1/2 star restaurant. It was good enough that we went back a second time…..although we probably would not have if there were more choices in Waterton.

Zums is a restaurant and Mercantile located in downtown Waterton.

They serve a great burger and good DARK gravy for your fries. Unfortunately the fires were not that good. The day we were there it was plus 30 Celsius and I was craving a COLD beer. It came at almost room temperature.

The washrooms are at the far end of the mercantile which means about a half a block walk…..literally. They were dirty, smelly and there was no soap for two straight days.

The service was friendly but rather slow…..don’t be in a hurry at Waterton!

We rate Zums eatery as a 3 star restaurant.

We were expecting a high end restaurant. We were greeted warmly and sat quickly. The restaurant was wide open and was noisy and offered very little privacy. The background music was pleasing but could have been a little louder. The waiter was of little assistance with a good wine. We chose the house Merlot which was average at best. The bread was a slice French bread with butter and garlic spread…..something we expect in a fast food spaghetti joint. The choice of potato was very limited and did not include twice baked or garlic mashed. We elected baked potato which came cold and had to be replaced. The prime rib was very good and cooked medium rare as requested.

The bathrooms more closely resembled those of a gas station. Metal painted stalls, poorly maintained, dark and cold. The paper towel dispenser was broke so there was a roll of paper sitting on the counter.

The only we found high end about John’s was the price! We rate John’s Prime Rib & Steakhouse a 3 star experience. We’d have gladly paid half the price.

We have a mixed review of Tatum’s Restaurant. It is located in the Embassy Suites at 4415 East Paradise Village Parkway, Phoenix, Arizona overlooking the Stonecreek Golf Course.

On the plus side, the made to order breakfasts were nothing short of AMAZING! The complimentary breakfast is only available to registered guests staying at the hotel. You could choose between eggs (any style), personal omelets made to order, pancakes, bacon, sausage continental breakfast, a variety of juices. teas and coffee and pretty much anything else that you might find on a typical breakfast table. We ate 8 breakfasts in a row there and loved every single one of them.

Again on the plus side were their burgers. They were tasty and prepared to order. We found the medium to be a little on the raw side so the next time we ordered medium well and it was perfect!

As for other items on the menu we were much less than impressed. We tried the chicken with noodles one night and the tenderloin another night. We found them both to be poor in quality and expensive in price. The chicken made us both feel ill an hour later. The tenderloin was cooked to perfection but was very seriously lacking flavor.

If you are looking for a great breakfast (must be a hotel guest) you’ll be more than impressed. If you want a quick burger, you are also in luck. Other than that, we cannot recommend Tatum’s for any other dining.

We rate Tatum’s Restaurant located in the Embassy Suites at 4415 East Paradise Village Parkway, Phoenix, Arizona as a 2 star. The breakfast was 4 star and saved the overall rating from being a 1 star.

If you are a red meat lover you need to give the Outback Steakhouse on East Cactus Road in Scottsdale a try.

We had the Tenderloin and the Prime Rib. Both were requested medium rare and they were delivered cooked to perfection. The side dishes were tasty and prepared well…..no soggy vegetables!

There was a decent wine selection but nothing that I recognized. The waitress was quite gracious and brought us samples of two different varieties to taste before deciding.

Overall we had a great meal and a great experience!

We rate the Outback Steakhouse in on East Cactus Road in Scottsdale Arizona a 4 Star.

If you are looking for a very greasy Chinese meal in a noisy and crowded environment, then PF Chang’s at 7132 East Greenway Parkway in Scottsdale, Arizona might be for you. As for us, we will not be back.

The meal was VERY, VERY GREASY from beginning to end.

The restaurant was over crowded and very noisy. There was a steady stream of traffic around our table the entire meal.

The wine selection was poor at best.

The special fried rice was the only highlight of the meal.

Our waiter was very friendly and accommodating.

We’ve ate at numerous PF Chang franchises around the USA and this was the first bad experience we have had.
